Hurricane Resilience Modeling

2017 ~ Present

Hurricane Resilience Modeling

Goals

The research of this team is focused on (and grounded in) risk analysis, statistical learning theory, Bayesian probability, stochastic simulation, and decision analysis. It also addresses issues related to disaster risk analysis, critical infrastructure, natural hazards, terrorism risk, climate change and climate adaptation, and the resilience and sustainability of urban areas and infrastructure. The work of the team is a mix of developing and testing new methods and applying methods to better understand problems of societal importance. The ultimate goal of this VIP team is to develop an agent-based simulation model of the evolution of the resilience and sustainability of a region experiencing repeated hurricanes.
