Rice VIP Student, June Chen, Wins Honorable Mention from CRA

Congratulations to June Chen, junior in electrical and computer engineering (ECE) on being selected for honorable mention for the Computing Research Association's (CRA) Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award. This national award program recognizes undergraduate students in North American universities who show outstanding research potential in an area of computing research. The award is sponsored by Microsoft Research.

June recently presented two papers, titled, "Degrees of Freedom of Spatial Self-Interference Suppression for In-Band Full-Duplex with Inter-node Interference," and " Decentralized Data Detection for Massive MU-MIMO on a GPU Cluster," at the Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers. She received a Bybee Travel Award from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University to support her travel to the conference.

June also presented her paper on MU-MIMO at the IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP) in December.

June currently performs research with ECE professors Ashutosh Sabharwal and Joseph Cavallaro.
