Sessions for Prospective and Early-Stage VIP Sites

  • Are you considering starting a VIP program at your university?
  • Have you already started a VIP program but have questions about implementation and operations?
  • Have you recently joined an existing VIP program and want to learn more about VIP?
  • Would you like a refresher about how VIP works?
  • Would you like to learn from the experiences of others who have successfully implemented VIP at their institutions?

If so, this session is for you!

We will be scheduling open sessions for prospective and early-stage VIP sites every other month, beginning in July 2021.  These sessions will be interactive, with plenty of opportunities for Q&A.  If you are unable to attend a regularly scheduled session and would like further information about starting a VIP program at your institution, please contact us any time at info@vip-consortium.org.

Roundtable with Ray Sokola, Executive Director of VIP Consortium, Inc.
(Choice of Two Sessions)

Ray Sokola joined the VIP Consortium nonprofit organization as Executive Director in 2020.  (Bio) One of his near-term priorities is to engage Consortium partners in strategic planning efforts.  As a first step, we are hosting two informal “meet and greet” sessions with Ray in November.  Ray is particularly interested in hearing from you regarding:

  • Your vision for your local VIP program as well as for the VIP Consortium
  • What the VIP Consortium nonprofit can do to help advance this vision
  • What you can do to help advance these efforts

We are offering two sessions to accommodate people in different time zones. Participants do not need to attend both sessions.  If you are unable to attend either of these meetings, please feel free to share your ideas and input with Ray on the registration form or contact him via email at ray@vip-consortium.org

Multinational, multidisciplinary, co-curricular project integration

At the University of Pretoria, integrating the VIP programme and similar initiatives, like the AREND* project, into the formal curriculum is impossible. Yet, without strong curricular alignment, the longevity and productivity of the student teams falter. We present and discuss the phases of co-curricular alignment that we experimented with at the University of Pretoria. We also discuss the challenges and benefits of the experience.
